In 2017, the industry was basically popular with the earliest traditional transparent screens, which were called grille screens by end customers. It is actually to make the lamp tube into a light strip, and then use optical glass, which is commonly known as PC material, to process it on the PC and embed the lamp beads inside. In order for the display screen to present good content, the first thing to achieve is color, that is, the so-called grayscale. If the grayscale is not up, the display effect will not be good. The industry may have extended an IC on the basis of the lighting decoration product at the earliest, and put it in the lamp, so its earliest color gamut was basically enough to reach 256. Therefore, the entire grayscale level of the display screen was not very high at that time, and the refresh rate could not be raised. On the other hand, when the IC is placed in the lamp and lit, the temperature of the entire working environment of the IC will be relatively high, so it has a certain impact on the life and reliability.
At that time, it was precisely because of the limitations of the products on the market that AOE created its own IC, based on this IC to make applications, and gradually entered the display industry. We also did a long period of market research at the time, and finally our company developed a chip by itself, which is different from the practices in the industry. The earliest such chip in the industry uses the so-called lamp-driven integration, and such products have certain limitations.
The packaging of ICs and the packaging of light-emitting chips are two different fields. Putting ICs in lamps is actually difficult for packaging factories. At the beginning, the entire yield of such products on the market was relatively low, so we decided to develop an IC to increase the grayscale level of the film screen, which can really achieve 12 bits, and the refresh rate can also be increased, at least to 3840 or more. In fact, the refresh rate of the products we have currently made is around 6k, so the overall display effect and color are very good.

After more than ten years of rapid development, my country’s LED display industry has entered a new stage of development in terms of design concepts, technological innovation, engineering scale, display effects, etc., and the industry competition has become increasingly fierce. This has also caused some small and micro enterprises in my country’s LED industry to quietly withdraw, and a large amount of business has gradually flowed to medium and head enterprises, accelerating the industry reshuffle.
At present, the production capacity of the entire LED display industry is relatively surplus. For example, if all the production capacity of our industry is added up, there may be 120 square meters, but the terminal demand may only be 800,000, then there will be a situation of oversupply, resulting in some companies that can only get certain projects or market share through price wars.
There is a saying that goes, “There is no winner in a price war.” The side effect of price wars is cost compression. Cheap things will definitely have worse materials, whether it is PCB structure, plastic parts, connectors, including driver LEDs, all materials can only be made with the lowest-end products, which means that the quality of this product still has certain hidden dangers.
So we need to find our own positioning. We at AOE mainly make mid-to-high-end products. The product quality should be stable and the display effect should be good. The materials we use are basically those of first-tier brand manufacturers. Some customers place very low orders and ask me to do it, but we don’t do this kind of thing. In China, there will always be someone who can get a lower price for any product, and the competition for transparent screens will definitely become more and more fierce in the future.

After more than 20 years of deep cultivation in the industry, AOE has an experienced team of talents that can provide professional technical support for product development and design. We have a strong IC team that has been engaged in this industry for almost 20 years, so we have a clear understanding of this industry. Our film screen is still different from those in the industry. We are the first in the industry to separate the lamp drive. The IC we made at that time had very low power consumption. Low power consumption means that when the same brightness is achieved, the temperature of the screen is at least 20 degrees lower than the lamp drive integration in the industry. There is also a high-brightness version, the entire brightness can reach about 6500, which can truly meet the brightness requirements of outdoor display. Another one is the LED hole eye screen. Its entire process is much simpler, so when customers use it, it is relatively convenient to install and maintain it, so we are currently mainly focusing on these two types of products.
