Therefore, as an LED display manufacturer and user, some measures should be taken to reasonably set the LED display brightness parameters and safety protection to reduce the negative impact caused by brightness. LED Display Brightness Range
Generally, the brightness range of indoor LED display is recommended to be around 800-1200cd/m2, and it is best not to exceed this range. The brightness range of outdoor LED display is around 5000-6000cd/m2, which should not be too bright, and some places have already displayed outdoor LED display. The brightness of the screen is limited. For the display screen, it is not the better to adjust the brightness as high as possible. There should be a limit. For example, the maximum brightness of the outdoor LED display is 6500cd/m2, but you have to adjust the brightness to 7000cd/m2, which is already If it exceeds the range it can withstand, it is like the capacity of a tire. If a tire can only be charged with 240kpa, but you are afraid of air leakage or insufficient air pressure during driving, you must charge 280kpa, then you may have just driven. The Negative Impact of LED Display Brightness is Too High

You can withstand the maximum brightness without negatively affecting the LED display, and then adjust it, but it is not recommended how high the brightness is. Just adjust how high, if the brightness is adjusted too high, it will affect the life of the LED display.
(1)Affect the service life of LED display
Because the brightness of the LED display is related to the LED diode, and the physical brightness and resistance value of the diode have been set before the LED display leaves the factory, so when the brightness is higher, the current of the LED diode is also larger, and the LED light is also It will work under such overload conditions, and if it goes on like this, it will accelerate the service life of the LED lamp and light attenuation.
(2)Power consumption of outdoor LED display
The higher the brightness of the LED display screen, the higher the module current, so the power of the whole screen is also greater, and the power consumption is also greater. An hour, 1 kWh of electricity is 1.5 yuan, and if it is calculated for 30 days in a month, then the annual electricity bill is: 1.5*10*1.5*30*12=8100 yuan; if it is calculated according to normal power, if every hour 1.2 kWh of electricity, then the annual electricity bill is 1.2*10*1.5*30*12=6480 yuan. LED Display Brightness Setting and Protection
1. Adjust the brightness of the outdoor LED full-color display according to the environment. The main purpose of brightness adjustment is to adjust the brightness of the entire LED screen according to the intensity of ambient light, so that it looks clear and bright without being dazzling. Because the ratio of the brightness of the brightest day to the darkest brightness of a sunny day can reach 30,000 to 1. The corresponding brightness settings also vary widely. But there is currently no configuration for brightness specifications. Therefore, the user should adjust the brightness of the LED electronic display in a timely manner according to changes in the environment.
2. Standardize the blue output of outdoor LED full-color displays. Because brightness is a parameter based on the perception characteristics of the human eye, the human eye has different light perception capabilities of different wavelengths, so only brightness cannot accurately reflect the intensity of light, but using irradiance as a measure of the safety energy of visible light can more accurately reflect The dose of light that affects the eye. The measurement value of the irradiance metering device, rather than the eye’s perception of the brightness of blue light, should be used as the basis for judging whether the blue light output intensity is harmful to the eye. Outdoor LED display manufacturers and users should reduce the blue light output component of the LED display under the conditions of display.
3. Standardize the light distribution and direction of the LED full-color display. Users should try their best to consider the rationality of the light distribution of the LED electronic display, so that the light energy output by the LED is evenly distributed in all directions within the viewing angle range, so as to avoid the strong light of the small viewing angle LED directly hitting the human eye. At the same time, the direction and range of LED light irradiation should be limited to reduce the pollution of the LED display to the surrounding environment.
4. Standardize the output frequency of the full color screen. LED display manufacturers should design the display in strict accordance with the requirements of the specification, and the output frequency of the display screen should meet the requirements of the specification to avoid discomfort to the viewer due to the flickering of the screen.
5. Safety measures are clearly stated in the user manual. The LED display manufacturer should indicate the precautions in the LED display user manual, explain the correct adjustment method of the brightness of the full-color screen, and the possible harm to the human eye caused by looking directly at the LED display for a long time. When the automatic brightness adjustment equipment fails, manual adjustment should be adopted or the LED display should be turned off. When encountering a dazzling LED display in a dark environment, the self-protection measures should be, do not look directly at the LED electronic display for a long time or carefully identify the picture details on the LED electronic display, and try to avoid the LED being focused by the eyes. 6. Protective measures are taken during the design and production of LED full-color displays. Design and production personnel will come into contact with LED displays more frequently than users. How LED Display Manufacturers Deal With the Brightness of the Display?
(1)Change the lamp beads
In view of the negative impact caused by the high brightness of the LED display, the LED display manufacturer’s solution is to replace the conventional lamp beads with lamp beads that can support high-brightness display screens, such as: Nation Star’s high-brightness SMD3535 lamp beads. The chip has been replaced with a chip that can support brightness, so the brightness can be increased by several hundred cd to about 1,000 cd.
(2)Automatically adjust brightness
At present, the general control card can adjust the brightness regularly, and some control cards can add a photoresistor to automatically adjust the brightness. By using the LED control card, the LED display manufacturer uses the light sensor to measure the brightness of the surrounding environment, and changes according to the measured data. Converted into electrical signals and transmitted to the single-chip microcomputer, the single-chip microcomputer then processes these signals, and after processing, controls the duty cycle of the output PWM wave in a certain order.
